Jocelyn Benson Fundraiser
On June 20, the GT Dems held a fundraiser for Secretary of State candidate Jocelyn Benson at Keen Technical Solutions’ beautiful event space. Jocelyn spent an afternoon in Traverse City, a stop on her campaign travels around Michigan, to dive deeper into her proposed ideas for Secretary of State. Jocelyn encouraged the Dems to get out and vote if they want to see the party thrive. She was joined in attendance by other candidates Matt Morgan, Dan O’Neil, and Jim Page, as well as Traverse City mayor Jim Carruthers

Jocelyn expressed that the Secretary of State is really the chief advocate for voters. Benson also shared a personal story in which her husband’s vote was considered “undeliverable” when serving in Afghanistan, and how if elected Secretary of State, she will do everything in her power to make sure voting is more accessible and all votes are accounted for. In addition, one of her main platforms is the 30 Minute Guarantee, in which people should be able to get in and out of a SOS branch in 30 minutes or less.
