BERGMAN MUST GO

One of the biggest questions facing us in this election year is What is Jack Bergman doing representing Michigan and how can we send him back to Louisiana?

The answers are simple: he’s doing serious harm as our U.S. House Rep. for the 101st district (the U.P. and NW lower Michigan), and we can boot him out by voting for the far more qualified, lifelong Michigander, Dr. Bob Lorinser on Nov. 8.

You can check out his voting record on votesmart.org. If you are a senior citizen. as I am, Bergman doesn’t think you deserve lower drug costs, protection against workplace discrimination, or protections for Social Security and Medicare.

If you’re a woman, as I am, Bergman voted no on your access to contraception and abortion, as well as several bills to protect women against domestic violence, assault and sexual harassment

If you’re a child or have or care for children, Bergman doesn’t defend you either. He voted NO on bills for emergency funding for baby formula during the shortage and childcare support legislation. Though he himself has five children and ten grandchildren, the children of Michigan are apparently not a priority for him.

Think about what you most deeply care about. National security? Fixing our roads and bridges and assuring broadband access for all? Heath care access? Clean air and water? Voting rights? Saving democracy? LGBTQ rights and protections? Bergman consistently votes NO on legislation on all these issues.

Look at his voting record and think hard about whether his votes are making life better or worse for you, your loved ones, and the people of our state. And while you’re at it, check out his opponent, Dr. Bob Lorinser at www.voterbob.com. I think you’ll be impressed.
